JCHS Student of the Month and Service Above Self Awards

Before we leave for Christmas Break, we wanted to take a moment and recognize three of Carson's amazing students!

First, Susannah Horton and Connor Kuehl were both honored at the Rowan County Rotary and Rowan County United Way Service Above Self Awards Night. Susannah won 1st place and received $250, while Connor was the 1st runner-up and received $100! Also, Carson High School was honored with the "Most Quality Nominations" Award, for which the school received $500. Special thanks to Salisbury Rotary Club and the United Way of Rowan County for the generous gifts!

Second, Miguel Valdez has been named the JCHS Student of the Month for December 2016, He was nominated by Mrs. Behrooz, who said, "Miguel has shown drastic improvement in his math class. He is focused every day and wants to be successful. Miguel is willing to work with anyone in the class and is kind to all." Miguel will be given a certificate to reference on college applications, as well as a couple special surprises from the Carson PTA!
