One of the greatest strengths that Carson has are the people entrusted with the teaching and learning of our students - the faculty! In December, we had the opportunity to bring two new staff members on-board, and we want to introduce them to you. I've asked each of them to write a short biography introducing themselves to our Carson family.
Kate McBride - Science Teacher
I am very excited to begin teaching at Jesse C. Carson! After two years at UNC-Asheville and two years at UNC-Charlotte, I have graduated with an earth science major as well as minors in biology and education. Earth science is my favorite subject though I really can't play favorites with a topic as awesome as science. If you did ever catch me outside of the classroom I'd probably be jogging or finding a way to be around horses. I am from Hickory, NC but am excited to become a part of Rowan County and most importantly - Carson!
Jessica Reynolds - Assistant Principal
I'm originally from Ohio, but have called North Carolina home for almost 11 years.
This is my 11th year in education. I received my undergraduate degree in middle school math and science from Bowling Green State University and my graduate degree from Western Carolina in School Administration. I also have NC HOUSSE certification in high school math. I spent the majority of my career teaching math at A. L. Brown in Kannapolis, but have also taught at Lake Norman High School and most recently Mallard Creek High School.
I've heard wonderful things about Carson High School and am looking forward to being a part of a tight knit community that is focused on the students!
