Spanish BEST Class

This blog was written my Ms. Ruth Marohn, Spanish Teacher at JCHS. In addition to teaching, Ms. Marohn also leads our Orange and Blue Crew.

The Spanish Honors III & IV class visits the Carson BEST Class each week to present a Spanish lesson. To prepare for the themed lessons, the Spanish students must take what they have learned in class and create a lesson that reflects their personal interests, knowledge, and creativity.  The lessons include review, vocabulary introduction, practices with the new words, games to reinforce the vocabulary, and other activities.

Last week the students presented a lesson with Thanksgiving vocabulary.  After the BEST class students were taught the vocabulary and completed a word search, they made turkeys with each feather representing what they were thankful for in their lives.

The Spanish students love the interaction with the BEST class students and develop a deeper understanding of our students with special needs that will go beyond the classroom.
