#TeamInspire

“Don’t change — you might grow!”
John Maxwell

Over the summer, I took my first class in the Master’s of School Administration program. I made the plunge into graduate school and with this came a long road of self-reflection. I began to think about all of the changes that Carson experienced over the past year. We implemented a district wide digital conversion, changed our administration team, and faced many challenges in the world of education. I thought about the instruction and implementation in my classroom and what those around me were facing. What was the biggest struggle for us? How can we change it? What do we need to help us change? Overwhelmingly, teachers have two qualms when it comes to change. “We don't have enough time,” and “We have always done it this way, so I can’t do one more thing.”

#TeamInspire was created to help negate those two misconceptions when it comes to technology and classroom instruction. Instead of creating “one more thing,” #TeamInspire provides teachers with differentiated professional development to meet each educator where they are. The team consists of nine captivating and ambitious educators dedicated to transforming their classrooms through the use of technology, literacy, and collaboration. Each member chose to embark on this journey together in order to increase student achievement and to inspire others. Once a month, team members will come together to show how they have implemented new strategies and technology tools into each of their content specific areas. Several Carson educators, along with district-wide technology instructors, will present on a variety of PD topics. Not only will this benefit teachers and their classrooms, but ultimately this team will help to transform entire departments.

#TeamInspire’s passion and enthusiasm for infusing technology and effective teaching strategies is contagious. Change can be scary. It is arduous, but it will not defeat us. Change is how we grow. And, when we continue to grow and advance as educators and professionals, we put students first. “Inspire, Teach, Change.”

We asked #TeamInspire what they were most excited about and used their answers to generate this Wordle.
