Why is CATS So Important to What We're Doing at Carson High?

The following blog was written by Rosemary Rasbach, a Senior in Mrs. Marohn's CATS class.
When you enter high school at JCHS you are assigned a teacher that will be yours for the next four years. You are introduced to people you never thought you would talk to or associate yourself with. However, throughout the years you learn to love each other. The teacher becomes the person you can talk to, get advice from, and you know actually cares about you. The other students become people you look out for and learn to love. All of you grow to become a family.

Your CATS class helps you grow as a person. You get involved with so many different types of people you learn not to discriminate, and stand up for the people that people do that to. Without CATS students wouldn’t have a home, or a place to feel accepted. Even if there is nowhere else for you to go, you know you always have CATS.

Regarding her CATS class, Mrs. Marohn says: “I am a very lucky CATS Teacher!! I have a group of wonderful students who have given me more than I could ever give them.”
