Our Team!

The following blog was written by Mrs. Amie Capano, as Science Teacher at Carson High School. In addition to teaching Biology, she also chairs the Science Department, teaches anatomy, and AP Earth and Environmental Science.

I have been a part of the Carson Biology Team since year one; every year our team has grown stronger.  I am going to attempt to share some reasons that I believe we work so well together and achieve some awesome results!

1. Every member of our team genuinely cares about the students and the job they are doing. 
2. We see the students and EOC results as “our” students and “our” EOC results.  This keeps the focus on the students and their growth rather than the individual teacher results.  Planning together and sharing resources is something that we have learned to do well.  
3. We are a very competitive group and aspire to be the best in the county and eventually the state! 
4. Trust!  This is a big one…we can depend on each other to be honest and look out for the best interest of everyone in the group.
5. Fun!  We try to stay positive and have a great time in our profession.

It is important to have a dependable team to work with each day and I am so lucky have Allison Hunter, Kelan Rogers and Laura McGuire as my coworkers. This is a shout-out to them and the tremendous job they do every single day!
